As cases of COVID-19 remain high, millions of rapid tests are still being used around the world.

While these tests are vital to combat the pandemic, they contain an average of 10 grams of plastic per test. This is resulting in thousands of tonnes of unrecyclable waste being sent to landfill across the world, an issue that designers are turning to sustainable solutions to solve. Eco-Flo is one of them, a concept design for a rapid test made from paper pulp, which is both biodegradable and recyclable. All of the instructions are printed on the test, reducing the need for extra materials.
